Even More Tickling Fun
Fisher Price TMX Tickle Me Elmo is even more ticklish than the original Tickle Me Elmo, and he reacts much more - wriggling around on the floor, getting up and down, begging for a break.
In 1996, Tickle Me Elmo was one of the most difficult-to-find toys of the holiday season. Ten years later, TMX. Elmo (the X stands for 10) was made public on September 19, after careful guarding and huge secrecy before his release. The secrecy didn't stop thousands of pre-orders from being placed, and TMX Elmo was a hit all over again.

Elmo has impressive automatic stand up action that keeps you tickling while he continues to giggle and say, "I got tickled". He has three modes of giggle action - Press its foot or belly and hear "You tickled Elmo." He can go from standing to sitting, then he falls back, sits and stands straight up again - the whole time giggling away and flapping his right arm. Touch his belly again, and he sits and rolls from one side to the other. He ends up on his back, kicking his legs, flapping his arms and giggling with the words, "You did it again." He ends his hilarious giggle session by standing up and letting out a deep sigh. This Elmo has a few more phrases: "Again, again," and "Give Elmo a break, please," and "I can't stop laughing". He needs six AA batteries, which are included, and he measures 15"H
Tickle Me Elmo comes with the 6 AA batteries needed to power him, but your kids will undoubtedly wear out the batteries very quickly. Time for the La Crosse Technology BC-900 AlphaPower Battery Charger which is one of the best battery chargers around and comes with 4 AA and 4 AAA batteries, so you'd need to pick up some more AA rechargeable batteries too.
TMX Elmo doesn't seem all that wonderful when you first take him out of his box. About 15" tall, and all red and furry (of course!), he looks like Elmo should, but doesn't feel very cuddly - hard plastic under the fur. But this Elmo is not meant for cuddles or hand holding or swaddling. This Elmo's for tickling.

Elmo has three tickling spots - on his belly, under his chin, and on top of his foot. When you sit him down and tickle him he wiggles, just like the original Tickle-Me Elmo, but he does much more than just wiggle. He falls over, waves his legs in the air, slaps his belly, stands up again (he's pretty good at getting up after he falls down), laughing madly all the time. When you tickle him a second time, things get even more fun. Elmo has a serious case of the giggles, wriggling about on his back, falling over on his side, and lying flat on his belly slapping the floor next to him as if he can’t speak for laughing. His familiar voice ends up in endless chuckles that drown out every every word until even Elmo begs for a break.

TMX Elmo uses 6 AA batteries, which are included, and also has an off switch so jaded parents can put a halt to the incessant giggling for a while to get some peace. He needs space to move around in order to get the best out of him, and works best on carpet (though smooth surfaces are OK too)
